Some new work that I did for a local game designer. He is working on a tabletop role-playing rule set.
I have been burned out lately, and possibly near depressed or something. I don’t have money or time to go get professionally checked out though. Anyways, the painting for tonight was pretty rough. I just couldn’t get into the right flow of seeing proportion and anatomy. The model’s face reminded me of someone I went to art school with.
I can feel the laziness come against me in updating regularly. My grandfather isn’t doing so well after a knee surgery, back in China, so my father has gone back to go see him.
This week’s figure drawing really gave me some perspective of time. The model was the first model I drew when I first started attending this figure drawing group back when I was a junior in high school (part of the reason I even got into art school was because of this figure drawing group). I would like to start diversifying the art I publish to this blog again, I have a slew of ballpoint pen drawings from October that I had released through my twitter. I would like to revisit some of those drawings and flesh them out to full illustrations. We’ll see how that goes.
